How did North Korea do at the Olympics

It’s not the first time North Korea has participated in the Olympics Games. Previous games includes as early as the 1964 Winter Olympics and Summer Olympics of 1972.

Summer Olympics 1976, 1980, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012.

Winter Olympics 1972, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1998, 2006, 2010 and this years.

Disciplines and athletes.

Figure skater Ryom Tae-Ok and Kim Ju-Sik.

Alpine skiing Choe Myong-Gwang, Kang Song-Il, Kim Ryon-Hyang.

Cross country skiing Han Chun-Gyong, Pak Il-Choi, Ri Yong-Gum.

Short track speed skating Jong Kwang-Bom, Choe Un-Song.

As well as 22 women added to the joint Korean ice hockey team.

Kim Jung Un has two motives to get PR, and secondly for the chosen athletes to do well ideally win a gold, silver or bronze, or to get to the semi finals.

I do remember the saying that all publicity is good publicity and it does seem fitting for both Kim Jung Un, and the North Korean athletes.

Post Pyeongchang Olympics, it seems likely that the inter Korean relationship between the Koreas potentially might have improved slightly. Whereas North Korea made it clear that the US still is considered the enemy and since South Korea has a military alliance with the US it has further complicated things.
