Åsa Romson vice Prime Minister without actual power

Ever since last year’s general election when the Swedish Environmentalist Party was trying to become the third biggest party in the Swedish government the Green Party has been hoping to become more popular among it’s voters.

The newly created government distributed the new titles accodingly the Green’s was more than pleased to see their female spokesperson appointed vice Prime Minister while the male spokesperson was given the position of Education Minister. Two other women were also appointed and given important positions, namely the Minister of Aid and Democracy and Culture Minister as well as the following positions; Minister of Finance and Consumer , acting Finance Minister and Minister of Housing, Planning and It Minister.

In comparision to Romson, South Korea’s current President is also a woman as well as the 11th president in total. Park Geun Hye is also the first female state leader for an North Eastern Asian nation and the first president that was born as a citizen of South Korea. She was appointed the 11th most powerful woman by Forbes in 2012 and 2013. Her time as president has been met with criticism for the Sewol accident, the many cases of high level corruption, the MERS outbreak and the many appointments of ministers that later proved to be incomtent or unsuitable. President Park has now been serving as president since February of 2013, two year now in comparision Ms Romson has only held her position since September of last year. Another promising female leader is the Democrat’s candidate for the US presidential post Hillary Rodham Clinton.

It’s Ms Clinton’s second presidential campaign and she is supposedly both suitable and qualified since her husband Bill used to be the US president many years, during which time Hilary was acting as the US First Lady. Her additional experience include Senator of New York from 2001 to 2009 and also First Lady of Arkansas in 1979- 1981. Ms Clinton will be 67 by the time of the US general election for president. President Park is slightly younger with her 63 years,

Park Guen Hye has actual experience since her father was the president of South Korea from 1962-1979. Before becoming president she used to be chairwoman of conservate Grand National Party from 2002-2006 and in 2011 and 2012 when the party was renamed Seanuri Party.

This makes Ms Romson the youngest female leader with her mere 45 years.

Age does of course not make determine a person’s suitability nor does gender. I think everyone remembers the Iron Lady Margaret Tatcher Britian’s first female Prime Minister serving from 1979 til 1990. Ms Tatcher was born in 1925, which would mean she was 54 when she became Prime Minister of Britain. When she resigned from her position she although she actually died as late as 2013. During that time the Conservative Party lead by Tatched had been governing the state for at least eleven years.

You could say everything begun many decades earlier with Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst. She was the first British woman that encouraged and lead the suffragette movement , she was born in 1858 and she could be seen as a remarkable woman since managed to give birth to six children as well as raising her surving five children. Unfortunately she died in 1928 at the age of 69. Her legacy still remains important let her cause never be forgotten.
